Join us for an awesome day at Amateur Radio Winter Field Day 2025 as we visit two incredible clubs in Florida: 📡 Fort Myers Amateur Radio Club – Operating at the North Fort Myers Recreation Center (2000 N Recreation Park Way, North Fort Myers, FL 33903), these hams set up an impressive portable station for Winter Field Day! We checked out their setup, made some great contacts, and enjoyed talking with operators about emergency communications and contesting. 📡 South Florida Latin Amateur Radio Club – At Castellow Hammock Preserve & Nature Center (22301 SW 162nd Ave, Miami, FL 33170), this club brought the heat with an amazing field setup! It was awesome seeing their dedication to emergency communications, DXing, and bringing new hams into the hobby. 🔸 What is Winter Field Day? Winter Field Day is an annual event where amateur radio operators across North America test their emergency preparedness skills by setting up and operating portable stations in the field. Whether running on solar power, batteries, or generators, this event helps hams practice for real-world emergency scenarios while having a ton of fun making contacts! 🎙 The 325 Repeater - Miami's Legendary UHF Machine A big highlight of our trip was learning more about the history of the legendary 444.325 W4THM (later KI4ZYV) Repeater in Miami, FL!
